There are many changes that occur in a woman's body after 40. Some of these changes are positive, such as the wisdom and experience that comes with age. However, other changes can be difficult, such as the physical and hormonal shifts that often accompany menopause.
One of the most noticeable changes is a decrease in estrogen levels. This can lead to symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and insomnia. Additionally, many women begin to experience weight gain around this time, due to a combination of factors including slowed metabolism and decreased muscle mass.
Another common change is an increase in fat distribution around the abdomen. This can lead to conditions like metabolic syndrome or type-2 diabetes. Finally, some women also start seeing signs of aging skin – such as wrinkles or age spots – at this stage in their lives.
