Qatar Syndrome is a rare, chronic and life-threatening disease that causes damage to the lungs. The cause of Qatar Syndrome is unknown, however it is believed to be an autoimmune response. Symptoms include coughing, chest pain, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing. There is no cure for Qatar Syndrome and there are currently no treatments available that can stop the progression of the disease. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms and improving quality of life. Most people with Qatar Syndrome die within 5 years of diagnosis.
