What factors affect longevity?

There are many different factors that can affect how long a person lives. Some of these factors are things that people can control, while others are not.

Some controllable factors include diet, exercise, and smoking habits. People who eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise tend to live longer than those who do not. Smokers also have a shorter life expectancy than nonsmokers.

Other controllable factors include alcohol consumption and stress levels. Heavy drinkers tend to die younger than those who drink in moderation, and people who experience high levels of stress often have poorer health outcomes than those who do not.

Uncontrollable factors that can affect longevity include age, genetics, and sex. Women generally live longer than men, partly because they typically live healthier lifestyles overall and partly because they are less likely to die from heart disease or cancer. Genetics also play a role in determining lifespan; some families just seem to have good genes when it comes to longevity!
