There are a variety of women's health issues that affect millions of women around the world. Some of these issues include breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, and cervical cancer. All of these cancers can be deadly if not caught early and treated properly. In addition to cancers, other health concerns that disproportionately affect women include heart disease, obesity, and depression.

One major issue facing women today is the prevalence of breast cancer. According to BreastCancer.org, breastcancer is the most common type of invasive cancer in U.S. women. In fact, according to their statistics 1 in 8 U.S. woman will develop breastcancer in her lifetime. While there is no one cause for this typeof cancer, there are certain risk factors that increase a woman's chancesof developing it such as being over 50 years old or having a family historyof breastcancer. There are also things that can be done to lower therisk such as getting regular screenings mammograms and self-exams.

The good news is that when caught early enough breastcancer can often becured through surgery alone.

Ovarian Cancer is another major concern for womens' health. Ovarian Cancer accounts for only 3%of all cancers diagnosed in the United States each year, but it causes morethan 14000 deaths annually. The reason ovariancancer is so deadlyis because it often goes undetected until it has spread beyondthe ovaries making it difficultto cure..
