There are two disorders that only affect females: endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome. Endometriosis is a disorder where tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This can cause pain, infertility, and other problems. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a disorder where women have enlarged ovaries with many small cysts on them. Women with PCOS often have trouble getting pregnant and may also have irregular periods, hair growth on their face or body, and acne.
