Is PMDD related to infertility?

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). PMDD symptoms are so disruptive that they can interfere with work, school, and social activities. Up to 8% of women may experience PMDD.

The cause of PMDD is unknown, but it’s thought to be related to hormone changes during the menstrual cycle. Some experts believe that women with PMDD may have an over-sensitive response to normal hormonal fluctuations. Others think that there’s a problem with the way brain chemicals called neurotransmitters interact in women with PMDD.

There’s no clear evidence that Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder causes infertility, however some studies suggest a possible link between the two conditions. A woman who has difficulty getting pregnant may want to be evaluated for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder just in case her fertility problems are due to this condition.

It can cause wrinkles and lines to form prematurely, as well as age spots and other blemishes. UV radiation can also make the skin thinner and less elastic, which leads to sagging tissues and a more aged appearance. In addition, excessive sun exposure can increase your risk of developing skin cancer. It is therefore important to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays by using sunscreen whenever you are outdoors and by avoiding prolonged periods of direct sunlight. If you do happen to get a sunburn, be sure to apply cool compresses or aloe vera gel to help soothe the affected area. And finally, remember that it’s never too late to start protecting your skin – even those ...
