Can hormones cause psychosis?

There is a great deal of research that suggests hormones can cause psychosis. For example, a study published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry found that women who were pregnant and experienced severe morning sickness were more likely to develop psychotic symptoms. Another study, published in the journal Biological Psychiatry, found that there was an increased risk of psychosis among people who had higher levels of testosterone. It's important to note that not everyone who has high levels of testosterone will experience psychosis, but this research does suggest a possible link between hormones and mental health conditions.
