There is no definitive answer to this question since everyone’s body is different and will respond differently to water intake. However, there are several reasons why drinking plenty of water may help you live a longer, healthier life.
Water makes up 60% of our bodies and plays a vital role in every function performed by our cells, tissues and organs. It helps us digest food, transports nutrients around the body, regulates our temperature and flushes toxins from the system. When we don’t drink enough water it can lead to dehydration which has a range of negative health consequences including fatigue, headaches, muscle cramps and constipation. Dehydration can also increase the risk of developing kidney stones or other urinary tract infections.
Drinking plenty of fluids – especially water – is one simple way to help keep your body healthy and functioning at its best. And as an added bonus: research shows that people who drink more water tend to weigh less than those who don’t! So make sure you stay well hydrated by drinking at least eight glasses of fluid per day (including tea & coffee). Your body (and mind) will thank you for it!
